When Peter walked on water – he had never done that before. Yeah, it took absolute faith and courage. Think about this. Jesus didn’t come calling out to Peter. It was Peter that initiated the event. I think sometimes God is waiting on us to want more from Him and initiate the God-given passions that are placed in our hearts.
As parents watching our children walk for the first time, we want nothing more than their absolute success. And that never ends! That is how God is with His children. He is there, ready to catch us if, for some reason, we temporarily lose our faith and become distracted by what’s going on around us, but He never looks for our failure. Never! He encourages our success. Just like a parent with a heart filled with joy and anticipation as they watch their toddler bobble their way towards them for the very first time. “come on! You can do it! Yay!!” Sweeping them up into their arms! That’s God! That’s His absolute, unquestionably love and desire for you and me.
At about four o’clock in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the waves! When the disciples saw him walking on top of the water, they were terrified and screamed, “A ghost!” Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!” Peter shouted out, “Lord, if it’s really you, then have me join you on the water!” “Come and join me,” Jesus replied. So Peter stepped out onto the water and began to walk toward Jesus.
Matthew 14:25-29 TPT
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:
Psalm 37:4-5 NIV
Dream big! Increase your faith in Him. Enlarge your capacity to believe! Look for opportunity to meet the Lord in new places! Magnify God in this way and prove Him! He will never disappoint us!
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9 NIV
