It takes a believing heart to go after the things of God. One morning, I woke up thinking about this Scripture in Exodus, and the Lord began to minister some beautiful things to me. –
“If you will listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and obey it, and do what is right, then I will not make you suffer the diseases I sent on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord who heals you.”
(Exodus 15:26 TLB)
The phrase “I am the Lord who heals you” really jumped out at me. For some reason, I began to think about the work and ministry of Smith Wigglesworth, and then, low and behold, I stumbled upon a sermon online by Smith with that same phrase as his title. Smith was often referred to as the apostle of faith. In his time of ministry, he saw thousands come to faith in his meetings, and hundreds healed of severe illnesses and diseases. Supernatural signs followed his ministry. It made me think how God is no respecter of persons. He really just operates through those who believe and have faith. I couldn’t help but continue to think about the power of God’s gospel that works wonders in the lives of so many around the world. I believe that there are things hidden that can only be accessed by faith. Treasures of our inheritance stored up and waiting for us to access them. Look at this scripture below. I want to show you something.
Every time we pray for you our hearts overflow with thanksgiving to Father God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we have heard of your devoted lives of faith in Christ Jesus and your tender love toward all his holy believers. Your faith and love rise within you as you access all the treasures of your inheritance stored up in the heavenly realm. For the revelation of the true gospel is as real today as the day you first heard of our glorious hope, now that you have believed in the truth of the gospel.
(Colossians 1:3-5 TPT)
Paul writes – “For we have heard of your devoted lives of faith in Christ Jesus and your tender love toward all his holy believers.” The first thing is this. Do people speak of your faith? That hit me kinda hard. Do they speak of my faith and my love for His people? I really have to examine myself on this matter, and I believe I have come up way short. I know great men and women of God like this, changing the world because of their sincere faith, devoted lives, and love. Their footprint is large, and His gospel is making a difference because of their faith.
The second thing is this. And this is huge.
“Your faith and love rise within you as you access all the treasures of your inheritance stored up in the heavenly realm.”
FAITH and LOVE RISE WITHIN US as we ACCESS ALL THE TREASURES of OUR INHERITANCE STORED UP FOR US in the heavenly realm! There are things hidden that are to be revealed that are rightfully ours and only can be released in the earth through our faith and pursuit of Christ. It is up to us to access what God has for us. God wants you and I to access the treasure. Smith Wigglesworth accessed what God had for him, and he believed God at His word, and because of that, many miracles took place in his ministry. Billy Graham is another such individual who accessed by faith the things God had for him, and he made such a significant impact in the world! It seems much of the American church’s powering has been hidden for a season, but I believe it is about to be revealed! The gospel is as real and powerful today as it was the day it began. There is no change in the power of God to save, and it can only be accessed by faith! Revival and salvations won’t come by us living outside of the glory of God. There is only one way the hidden things of God can come. They come through our devoted lives of faith, and we can’t please God without faith!
And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him.
(Hebrews 11:6 TPT)
God has a plan for our lives and a blueprint of things to be accomplished. He has put us here for a reason, and it is up to us to discover our purpose. When we find our “why,” that is when we really begin to live and inspire others to do the same.
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
(Psalm 139:15-16 ESV)
The Psalmist David wrote that all his days were written in a book and were formed by God. God told Jeremiah that He knew him before He formed him in his mother’s womb and ordained him a prophet to the nations.
( Jeremiah 1:5) God knew Smith and Billy, and He knew you and me before it all began. Our days have been formed, and by faith, God’s plan waits for us to access it. Faith and love rise within us as we access what God has for us. Do people speak of your faith? Maybe it’s time they do!
So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”
(Matthew 5:16 TPT)
